Ship Fitter Job Overview: 
The Shipfitters are responsible for assembling and erecting structural steel during various stages of ship hull construction. The shipfitters also build all interior structures such as hatches, doors, and bulkheads to complete all the steel work in the ship. Local compensation is $18 per Hour and Non-Local compensation is $10 per Hour PLUS $105/Day per Diem. 
Ship Fitter Applicant Requirements:  
Must have at least 5 years of recent field experience as a shipfitter in a shipyard 
Must be able to read blueprints, do layouts, and tack weld 
Must be able to fabricate metal structural parts, components and entire structures 
Must be able to layout, burn and prepare plate and pipe for installation 
Must pass a pre-employment drug test 
Must have a current resume
