Ameri-Force has current Ship Fitting needs in Norfolk, VA! 

Requirements for this job: 

-Minimum of 5 years of recent shipyard experience as a shipfitter 

-Must pass a pre-employment drug test  

-Must have a current resume

-Must be able to read blueprints and do layouts. 

-Must be able to fabricate metal structural parts, components and entire structures 

-Must be able to layout, burn and prepare plate and pipe for installation 

-Must be able to tack weld 

The Ship Fitters will be positioning, aligning, fitting and welding parts to form completes units or subunits. They will be following blueprints and layout specs and using jigs, welding torches and hand tools. The Ship Fitters will have to Tack-weld fitted parts together. They will set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes rolls, shears flame cutters, grinders and drill presses to bend, cut, form, drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
