Job Summary: The mission of the Sheet Metal Field Installer is the installation of commercial air conditioning/heating systems and their maintenance. In addition he/she will fabricate sheet metal to specification, perform industrial welding, and assist with the installation of duct work and piping for refrigeration, as well as the testing and balancing of building systems. The ideal Sheet Metal Mechanic has a high school diploma/GED, some trade/technical school coursework, a minimum of three years of experience in commercial sheet metal work, and an unrestricted driver's license in this state. In addition he/she will have an aptitude for the mechanical trades and will be experienced with the use of hand and power tools, able to utilize appropriate math skills (calculations, geometry, and cost estimates), able to read/use blueprints, and able to follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.
