Strategic Analysis is seeking technical support staff with capabilities to help build an emerging program to understand the relationship between the human microbiome and human performance. The candidate is requested to support the development and management of current and planned programs at the intersection of human physiology, synthetic biology and microbial ecology. Planned programs aim to understand and control the microbiome-human interface to ensure peak readiness and performance of Warfighters.Ideal candidates will have experience in human physiology, human microbiomes, microbial ecology, and synthetic biology as well as previous experience in providing direct support to the DARPA Program Manager in the development of a new start program, and in the subsequent support of the source selection process.Candidates should have strong technical writing skills, ability to communicate complex scientific ideas to broad audiences, digest basic and applied research across areas of biotechnology and apply to DoD capability gaps, and demonstrates a willingness to explore the scientific literature for emerging biotechnology. Excellent organization, communication, and coordination are required. Must be able to handle a wide variety of tasks, such as briefing support and general administrative actions.

Candidate must have a security clearance sufficient to allow unsupervised entrance and work within the DARPA facility.


Candidate should hold a Ph.D. in a field relevant to the support of microbiome and synthetic biology related programs for the DoD, with the breadth of expertise to assess technologies across a broad range of applications.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific ideas to broad audiences
  • Laboratory experience in understanding genetic analysis, epigenetics, and
  • phenotype-genotype relationships
  • Demonstrate a willingness to explore the scientific literature for emerging biotechnology
  • Excellent organization, communication and coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work independently


Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Clearance within a reasonable period of time. Active DoD clearance preferred.
