Job Summary: The mission of the Electrician is to perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and trouble-shooting work involved with electrical systems. He/She applies technical, electrical principles in a number of areas including heating, cooling, refrigeration, motors, fire alarms, and generator equipment. The Electrician must be able to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of residential electrical systems in an efficient and professional manner. He/She must also be committed to safety in the use of all hand and power tools and must have solid interpersonal and customer service skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Installs, services, and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, and wiring
  • Diagnoses cause of problems and/or failures in electrical systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs
  • Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment
  • Installs, repairs, and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery
  • Constructs and maintains service equipment
  • Reads electrical circuit diagrams
  • Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom, calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies, and recommends purchases and suppliers
  • May do other trades work incidental to electrical work
  • Supervises apprentice Electricians during their training period
  • Maintains vehicle, tools, and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability and safe operating condition
  • Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned to gather information required to perform or enhance job functions
  • Prepares written materials (e.g., repair status, activity logs, work orders, etc.) for customers as well as supervisors to document job status and provide estimates
  • Coordinates with other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently
  • Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must have graduated from an approved Electrician training program
  • 4+ years of experience as an Electrician
  • Licensed as an Electrician in this state
  • Safety and customer service oriented
  • Fluent English-speaking and writing skills
  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities
  • Team player
  • Able to work irregular and extended hours, including an on-call schedule
  • Unrestricted driver's license in this state
