Job Summary

The Plumbing Technician is responsible for completing residential plumbing services, including water heater replacements, water heater installations, water service piping, home plumbing repair, bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, sewer repairs, and sewer replacements. He/She is the authority on all matters pertaining to plumbing repair/installation and coordinates with other staff to ensure that allowance is made for electrical or HVAC needs. Our team of expert plumbers offers plumbing service, tankless water heaters, solar water heating, indirect water heaters, and more. We also install gas fireplaces, gas logs, gas piper, water purification systems, and water service piping.

The ideal Plumbing Technician has an unrestricted driver's license in this state. In addition he/she will have an aptitude for the plumbing trade, be experienced with the use of hand and power tools, be able to utilize appropriate math skills (calculations, geometry, and cost estimates), and be able to read/use blueprints and follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.


  • Reviews building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials
  • Identifies and safely uses required tools and special equipment
  • Selects the type and size of pipe required
  • Locates and marks positions for connections and fixtures
  • Installs supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment
  • Assembles and installs valves and fittings
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains water treatment equipment, piping, and controls; underground storm sanitary and water piping systems; sinks, tubs, and toilets; water heaters and conditioners; and plumbing fixtures, appliances, and trim
  • Tests pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
  • Maintains documentation of all building codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislation
  • Performs scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
  • Applies all codes to installations, repairs, and maintenance
  • Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
  • Ensures all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded; that they meet the requirements of the appropriate codes; and that they meet environmental protection requirements
  • Prepares orders of supplies
  • Keeps daily reports
  • Schedules work in cooperation with other trades and team members



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Post high school tech school desired
  • Aptitude for plumbing trade
