Job Summary

The Hospital Plumber is responsible for: 
• Running Med Gas Piping
• Low Voltage Wiring and Brazing
• Installation of Head Wall Units
• Running/Making Connections to Booms
• Material Take Offs
• And More…

The Ideal Hospital Plumber has:
• Minimum 2 years of Commercial Plumbing Experience
• Up to date knowledge of Med Gas Codes
• Unrestricted Driver’s License in the State of Virginia with clean driving record

Responsibilities:

• Running Med Gas Piping
• Low Voltage Wiring and Brazing
• Installation of Head Wall Units
• Running/Making Connections to Booms
• Material Take Offs
• Reviews building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials
• Identifies and safely uses required tools and special equipment
• Selects the type and size of pipe required
• Locates and marks positions for connections and fixtures
• Installs supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment
• Assembles and installs valves and fittings
• Tests pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
• Maintains documentation for all building codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislation
• Performs scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
• Applies all codes to installations, repairs, and maintenance
• Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
• Ensures all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded; that they meet the requirements of the appropriate codes; and that they meet environmental protection requirements
• Prepares orders of supplies
• Keeps daily reports
• Schedules work in cooperation with other trades and team members

Qualifications:


• Minimum 2 years of Commercial Plumbing Experience (Preferably on Hospital/Medical Job Sites) 
• Up to date knowledge of Med Gas Codes
• Unrestricted Driver’s License in the State of Virginia with clean driving record
• High School Diploma / GED
• Fluent English-speaking and writing skills
• Team player
