Job Title: Commissioning Technician (Mechanical)

Reports to: Commissioning & QA/QC Manager

 

Summary/Objective:

The Commissioning Technician (Mechanical) will support field trade teams and/or third party contractors and oversee and direct maintenance and/or personnel and processes critical to the safe and efficient completion of tasks. Must have ability to effectively survey any repairs needed, create a repair scenario and effectively implement scenario.

Essential Functions:

  • Select, train, and evaluate employees and assign work
  • Develop and implement work methods and procedures
  • Work with the multiple clients to schedule and successfully perform assigned tasks
  • Supervise tasks and projects assigned
  • Investigate, evaluate, and recommend changes and modifications to improve safety
  • Maintain inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance records
  • Manage employee time records and daily activity reports
  • Participate in safety inspections, job safety analyses, and safety meetings
  • Testing of new equipment / repair equipment to design specifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility (Direct Reports Y/N) Y

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical trade or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in an operational and customer facing role
  • In-depth knowledge of two or more of the following disciplines: plumbing systems, electrical systems, HVAC Cooling and ducted air systems, general construction practices, generator systems, and controls systems
  • Excellent building services knowledge
  • Must have good verbal and written skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able and prepared to travel as required
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record, criminal record, and ability to pass a drug screen
  • Requires overtime as needed

Preferred:

  • Prior military experience 
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent

Travel:

May require infrequent travel
