Description

The Crane Operator must safely work and operate machines as well as being aware of machine and site safety requirements. The crane operator must follow company directive of safety first and is always alert ensuring all company operations are conducted in a safe manner.

To be successful in this position, the Crane Operator must have the ability to operate equipment safely and effectively for each project. He/she must be dependable and flexible with scheduling.  The Operator must aim and promote the achievement of zero accidents and safety excellence. He/she must also have the ability to establish and preserve effective relationships with management staff, employees, vendors, and customers. The right candidate should be professional and possess strong communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proficiently operate the heavy equipment on and off site, which may include large cranes, boom cranes, trucks, forklifts, and others as needed.
  • Observes load hookup and determines safety of load
  • Controlling the machinery with pedals, levers, dials, and switches to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement, according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
  • Perform a daily heavy equipment walk-around inspection and preventative maintenance responsibilities.
  • Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • Drives machine to worksite.
  • Directs workers in placing blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing of machine when lifting heavy loads
  • Inspects, cleans, and lubricates equipment and performs minor repairs.
  • Perform job responsibilities safely under various working conditions.
  • Assist with rigging or other related activities when not operating crane
  • Perform other job duties when not operating crane

Requirements:

Must have current NCCCO Certification
•Must hold a current CDL license
•Minimum of 2 years' experience required
•Must be willing to work flexible hours and nights/weekends, as needed
•Must be able to work in all weather conditions
•Rigging experience is preferred
•Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
